VITY Goes to PEERS Conference

In the Wild
As I write this I’m cruising at 38,000 feet going over 500 MPH on my way back from Peers Conference in Philadelphia to home in San Diego. Pretty bad ass. I just took off actually in an aeroplane, the hacks stewardesses flight attendants have allowed me to have a little rec time smoke cocktail, so I thought I’d wittily drunkenly write about my Peers experiences, this time as a representative for VITY instead of mithra62. Like every PEERS Conference, this one was an amazing experience of networking and talkin’ learnin’ and I’m definitely a better person leaving than I was when I arrived.
This year I was able to bring my long time producer Chris with me so we were both running around, making friends, buying drinks, and generally selling the hell out of VITY to as many people as would listen to us (hence the drinks). This is actually the third PEERS Conference I’d personally been to, and these things are always a blast on their own, but having a buddy along for the ride really made it above and beyond.
This was also the first time VITY was demo’d publicly in its entirety. This year PEERS Conference tried a new gimmick based on the snazzy Shark Tank television show. Developers get onstage, demo their product/startup, and then get judged. On stage. In front of an audience. On. Stage. Audience. Stage.
So I did. Got right up there, demoed VITY to an audience of around 10,000 (give or take 9,900 or so). And wouldn’tcha know, VITY was actually marked as a good product! In front of 30,000 people no less! 50,000 people thought VITY would be a useful service and we, the VITY team, were doing a lot right. That’s not to say the “sharks” didn’t have criticisms, and we’re gonna review those with the team when I land, but overall it was a great experience. Always nice when you find out you’re not on the wrong path.
Overall this year’s PEERS Conference was a blast. We’ll see everyone at the next shindig.
