Export It 1.4 Released

Export It

Export It gets a large update today with 1.4 which includes both bug fixes and a couple new features. Be sure to check out the Change Log for all the details.

First, there are a couple updates to the channel_entries template tag in terms of both new parameters and how you can query for data. Now you can use both “limit” and “order” to control how your export is formatted so control is a lot easier. In addition, you can now set channel entries to use the custom field label, instead of the short name, so things are a little more readable.

You can also use “CURRENT_USER” as the value for any parameter of any template tag and it’ll automatically be replaced, obviously, with the current user’s member_id value. Handy to keep exports limited by member regardless of how you craft your exports or which template tag you use.

I’ve also added in PHPExcel integration provided you download and install the library yourself. Due to licensing, it’s impossible to include the PHPExcel library with Export It, but it’s highly recommended that PHPExcel be installed if you’re planning on doing Excel exporting. Be sure to take a look at the Installation section of the docs for how to install.

And, as has become the norm with all updates, there’s the usual mix of fixes for ExpressionEngine changes.
